What child doesn't want to put on their Daddy's boots?

We attended a wedding at our church today and I got some great pictures of the girls blowing bubbles outside. These cuties are Libby (from Guatemala) and Quincie (from China), both daughters of my life-long friend Jackie. Heidy (from Guatemala), daughter of one of my best buds Debbie~and of course my China baby Maci.

Donnie and I decided that Maci's hair would look really cute if she got it cut off into a bob. My great friend Trish is a beautician and I asked her to cut it. She came over to the house and Maci did absolutely wonderful. She just sit there on the stool and didn't make a peep. I really think she was about to go to sleep while Trish was cutting her hair. I am absolutely thrilled with her hair cut! Maci looks even more adorable than ever. Don't you think???

Well, today started out in a very bad way! We weren't even out of bed when we heard a knock on the hotel door. Donnie got up, looked out the peep hole and saw.....a policeman!!!!! So immediately we are freaked out! He says, "Sir, do you own a blue sienna mini van?" Donnie says, "Yes." Then he says, "It is sitting in the parking lot with the passenger window busted, I need you to come with me." Well shoot! While we were sleeping peacefully from a day full of fun, someone decided they wanted to break into our van and steal our DVD player and DVD's. So, Donnie makes the police report, immediately calls insurance and tries to find out when we can get the window fixed. The window is covered of course, but we have to claim the DVD player and DVD's on our home insurance policy since it was not actually attached to the van. Then we realize our deductible is $1000, so we are out of luck! Then we find out the glass company has to order the window and it won't be in until the next day! Geeesh!!!!!

So, Donnie and Dillon drive (without a window) to WalMart and get some plastic and gorilla tape to put over the window. Talk about redneck! Luckily, we were going to a waterpark today that is just across the street from our hotel. So, we didn't have far to drive! We did however look funny!!!

I wish I had taken pictures of the van, but I didn't. I think I was so shocked about being robbed, that I didn't even think of it!

Well, after all of our excitement this morning, we decided to go to Splash City. It was a great day for swimming--really hot and sunny! Maci loves to swim, so she was ready to go. We spent the entire day there, except for going to the van for lunch. I think the kids had a great time! We got there when it opened at 11:00 am and didn't leave until around 6:00 pm. Maci was not ready to go though. She threw a fit all the way out to the parking lot. The park had a place where you could try to surf. Dillon was afraid to do it, but Peyton tried. She didn't stand up, just layed on her belly. She didn't do too bad for her first time.

We went to Steak-n-Shake for supper and then went to the hotel and watched a movie. We've got to stick around the hotel tomorrow morning because the glass company wasn't sure what time they would get there to fix the window. I was very disappointed because we were going to spend the day with Katie and Beth from St. Petersburg, MO. We have decided to get together in September or October to let the girls play. I can't wait! I'm really looking forward to seeing the girls play together.

Look at my new swimsuit!

After lunch we went to the City Museum. We had been here last year with the kids, but Maci couldn't really do too much. This year was definitely different! We just let Dillon and Peyton do their own thing while me and Donnie played with Maci. She had so much fun! We went through the tunnels, played in the kiddy land, went down slides, played in the balls and spent some time in the Art Center. Maci had a blast painting! Then we went outside and did the same thing! Me and Maci even climbed up to the airplane and went down the dragon slide together! Maci loves being outside, so that is where we spent most of our time. After about 4 hours in the museum, we headed back to the hotel. We were all pooped out after a very big day! What we didn't know was that we were in for quite a surprise early the next morning.....

We decided to go to the Arch and the City Museum today. Our plan was to go to the Arch, then grab a sandwich for lunch then head to the City Museum for the rest of the day. We had to park several blocks away, but we did get to walk along the riverfront to get to the Arch.

Peyton was a little bit nervous about the ride to the top. But, she ended up being okay. I did not like the fact that the elevator was so hot. Maybe I was just having a hot flash! TeeHee! The view from the top was beautiful! Maci's favorite part was looking at the water from way up there!

After we got down, we strolled through the history museum and then left for lunch. The Arch was a lot of fun and pretty interesting. I think the kids really enjoyed it too!

As you can tell Peyton is not real sure about this elevator ride

We had plans of going to the Children's Hope Reunion picnic on Saturday, July 12th, but Donnie has been so swamped with garage doors that he had to work. So we left Allendale around 4:00 PM on Saturday and headed to St. Louis. Our plans were to go to Grants Farm, the Arch, the City Museum, do a little swimming and try to relax a little bit.

We stopped at the Mt. Vernon WalMart and got lunchmeat and stuff to have for lunch every day. We were only going to go out to eat for supper. Then we headed to the hotel. Once we got there, we settled in and went to bed. On Sunday, we decided to go to Grants Farm. It was so much fun! Maci just loved taking the tram into the park. She however did not like feeding the goats!!! That was a bad idea! They were either trying to eat her shirt or her sunglasses, which was not much fun for Maci. Surprisingly she didn't cry! Maci did like feeding the camel. Daddy had to help her, but I think she would've fed him all day long.

Then we went and saw the clydesdale horses. That was a lot of fun too! They are a lot bigger than I though they were. We even got to pet a mommy horse and her new baby! Maci liked that too, until a stupid horsefly started buzzing around--then she flipped out! Maci is afraid of a silly old house fly--so she is terrified of great big horse flies! Thank goodness I got a picture of the kids before the horsefly incident!
